What is the last date to file GST returns?
GSTR-1 is due on the 11th of the following month (monthly) or 13th (quarterly under QRMP). GSTR-3B is due on the 20th for regular taxpayers. GSTR-9 annual return is due on December 31st.
Who needs to register for GST?
Any business with an annual turnover exceeding ₹40 lakhs (goods) or ₹20 lakhs (services) must register for GST. Certain businesses like e-commerce operators and inter-state suppliers must register regardless of turnover.
What is the due date for filing Income Tax Returns?
For individuals and non-audit cases, the due date is July 31st. For businesses requiring a tax audit under Section 44AB, it is October 31st. Belated returns can be filed up to December 31st.
What is TDS and who needs to deduct it?
TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) is a tax deducted by the payer before making certain payments like salary, rent, professional fees, and contractor payments. Businesses, firms, and companies meeting prescribed criteria must deduct TDS.
What is MSME / Udyam Registration?
Udyam Registration is a government certification for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. It is free, online, and gives businesses access to government schemes, priority bank lending, lower interest rates, and tender eligibility.
What documents are needed for GST registration?
You need a PAN card, Aadhaar card, proof of business address (electricity bill or rent agreement), bank account statement or cancelled cheque, and passport-size photographs. Additional documents may be required based on entity type.
What is a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)?
A DSC is an electronic signature used to authenticate documents on government portals like MCA21, GST, income tax, and e-tender portals. Class 3 DSC is the most commonly required type for business filings.
How does Trade License Registration work?
A trade license is issued by the local municipal authority allowing you to carry on a specific trade or business at a particular location. You apply to your local municipality with proof of premises, identity, and business activity.
What is GeM Registration?
GeM (Government e-Marketplace) is a platform where businesses can sell products and services to government buyers. Sellers need to register with business documents, bank details, and MSME/Udyam certificate to start selling on GeM.
What is PF and ESI Registration?
PF (Provident Fund) registration is mandatory for businesses with 20+ employees. ESI (Employee State Insurance) is mandatory for businesses with 10+ employees earning up to ₹21,000/month. Both provide social security benefits to employees.
How can I get a Networth Certificate?
A Networth Certificate is issued by a Chartered Accountant certifying your net financial worth based on your assets and liabilities. It is commonly required for visa applications, bank loans, tenders, and financial eligibility proofs.
What is UDIN and why is it needed?
UDIN (Unique Document Identification Number) is a mandatory number generated by a CA while certifying financial documents, reports, and certificates. It ensures authenticity and can be verified by any authority on the ICAI UDIN portal.
